What to do (and what not to do) if you have an accident at work
I’ve had an accident at work – what do I do now?
Find out all you need to know about what you should do and what you shouldn’t do if you’ve had an accident at work in our article: https://leech.co.uk/what-to-do-accident-at-work/
Essentially, if you’ve had an accident at work, it is vital that you:
- Report the accident to your employer as soon as possible after the accident so that the accident can be recorded by your employer;
- Record the details of the accident and any witnesses to the accident
- Go to your GP about your injuries.
It is also vital that you don’t admit liability to your employer or your work colleagues after the accident. It is sometimes initially difficult to tell who was at fault for the accident and so a full investigation needs to be carried out before this can be established. If you admit liability before the investigation is complete, your compensation claim may be affected.
